Michael Carroll (CEO): Mr. Michael Carroll serves as VERTEX Division Manager of Fisheries and Aquaculture Services.  He has more than 25 years of experience in the seafood business from captaining a commercial fishing vessel to negotiating hundreds of millions of dollars in seafood procurement deals for major US retailers and restaurants. Mr. Carroll has held numerous seafood industry roles in companies like Ahold, Legal Seafoods and Fishery Products International. Mr. Carroll has worked extensively in procurement, operations and compliance for various large retail, restaurant and specialty seafood processors distributors.  Mike has also worked within the environmental sector for the New England Aquarium and Global Trust Certification Body. Mike has extensive experience and contacts in the seafood trade and environmental sectors.

Dennis Perlot: Dennis J Perlot is Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Theia Solutions. He has architected numerous systems for many companies in the New York to Boston corridor. With a track record of over 100 successful projects and products, his consulting work spans many industries which give him a broad perspective. He has managed on shore and off shore project teams supporting over 60 applications simultaneously in a variety of technologies. Dennis was honored to receive a Smithsonian Award for work in Medicare fraud detection. This project was used by the Government Accounting Office (GAO) and other federal agencies to identify over $110 million of fraud and recovered over $11 million. Additionally, his work in legal analytics resulting in winning the WK Global Innovation award.

Jeff Picard: As the Principle and Co- Founder of VERTEX, Mr. Picard has been responsible for development of new profit centers, management of large corporate operations and corporate growth strategies for various VERTEX ventures over the past 18 years. Under Mr. Picard’s leadership VERTEX has grown to over 20 offices around the world that service demanding multi-national companies.

Nicole Perlot: With a Bachelor of Science from UConn majoring in Coastal Studies and multiple minors including Environmental Economics and Policy, Nicole has worked on both the state and federal level collecting fisheries data. This combined with her computer programming background gives her the ability to look practically at what and how information can be run through BackTracker.

Mark Soboil: Dr. Soboil is the CEO of MED, the original developer of BackTracker and pioneered its original platform. In addition to this database platform Mark developed a front end platform “FishTale” for the New Zealand Fishery industry funded by the largest fishery company in New Zealand Aotearoa Fisheries Limited.
